Crew
In 2019, Hurtigruten expanded its fleet with a brand new ship: MS Fridtjof Nansen. The modern ship features new, particularly environmentally friendly and sustainable hybrid technology.
Antarctica has always held a magical attraction and fascination for people; the icy world of the sixth continent seems distant and unreachable. But what was reserved for a small group of intrepid polar explorers at the beginning of the 20th century has been possible for adventurous travellers since 2002 as part of Hurtigruten's expedition cruises. In its 18th Antarctic season, Hurtigruten is sending a total of three ships to the white continent: in addition to MS Fram and MS Midnatsol, the new hybrid expedition ship Roald Amundsen will also be in service. Hurtigruten guests can discover the white continent and experience its wonders for themselves on various routes. They will be accompanied by a knowledgeable and experienced expedition team consisting of scientists from various disciplines, who will share their extensive knowledge of the destination and wildlife in lectures on board or during one of the landings. Additional excursions also invite guests to actively explore nature, whether it's kayaking, camping in tents on the Antarctic Peninsula, or snowshoeing to the nearby summit.
